eBusiness Forum's first event under its own banner was a 'sell-out' (except it was free!). Sixty people attended the event at the Marks Tey Hotel to hear and see what is new in eBusiness and about Podcasting.

After a longer than usual introduction from Catherine Turner which included an overview of the philosophy behind eBusiness Forum and what it has to offer, Peter Banks gave us recommendations on new VoIP solutions for small business or home use, larger or virtual businesses and new replacement PBX systems.

Unfortunatley the paid for Wi-Fi connection let us down badly so we could not demonstrate the use of VoIP over the normal telephone or mobile phone network which is available from www.voipcheap.co.uk. The concept of the new Wallet Cards were previewed by our payments expert David Abbott.

Then Karen Ainley took the floor to tell us about the 5 Ps of Podcasting which was followed by a coffee break during which Karen interviewed a selection of attendees about their interest and possible use of podcasting.

During the second half Peter Banks showed us how to edit the sound files to create the podcast. The end result was a quickly made podcast complete with interviews and topped and tailed with music. A link to the podcast is above.

The session ended with our Q&A session which was not surprisingly dominated by questions about podcasting. Finaly we awarded the wireless routers which had been bid for by a number of companies. These were awarded to Robyn Craig of Adavista, Frances Dobson of British Institute of Verbatim Reporters and Paul Sayer of Mildmay Events who was had sent his apologies for not being present.

Many thanks to Karen Ainley of Mosaic Publicity for presenting and for contributing towards the event by paying for the refreshments.
